RAGNAROK LUMBERJACKS

History Lection and Current Disposition
(MCMXCI e.v.)

The Ragnarok Lumberjacks are a member holon of the Invisible Collage constituted as a meta-religious disorder.

A holon is an entity that fuctions as a part from some perspectives and as a whole from others. Seen from Sirius, the Ragnarok Lumberjacks are a part of the Invisible Collage. Seen from Earth, the Lumberjacks are a whole bunch of sorcerers.

The Invisible Collage is not the Invisible College. The latter was originally another name for the 17th century Rosicrucians, and has since been adopted by a variety of groups. The Invisible College(s) may or may not be member holon(s) of the Invisible Collage, but it (they) is (are) not identical with it.

In Bokononist terms the Invisible Collage is a meta-karass ("meta" here taken to mean "more comprehensive, transcending"); Zen-o-philes will note that its name is a koan. Also note the various puns invoked when the abbreviation I.'. C.'. is used. In the final analysis, the Invisible Collage is a circle whose center is everywhere, and whose circumference is nowhere.

The Ragnarok Lumberjacks are a meta-religious disorder. "Meta" is here taken to mean "subsequent to, following," or "changed." Other meta-religions include Discordianism, the Church of the Subgenius, and the Neo-American Church.

The Lumberjacks came into being on 7 May 1988 e.v., on which occasion the Fool-Magus, the Magus-Fool, and the Empress of the disorder, assisted by the Angel Elesdiel, destroyed the world. Synchronous with this eschaton, Ragnarok Lumberjacks al/X and Sor. K.A. annhilated the planet Saturn. The disorder subsequently grew to its current size, now scattered about the world.

The greatest concentration of Lumberjacks is presently (1991 e.v.) in the Chicago area, including among others the Magus-Fool, al/X, the Grand Exquisitor, and the Secretary-Illuminator.

Currently, the Lumberjacks seek to cut down certain Trees (those of Knowledge and Life) by the employment of various axes:

Despite the radical difference in the functioning of the axes, their effect, when employed by a Lumberjack, is complementary and cumulative. Further explanations of the Four Axes may be found in the Whetstone Pages and the Book of Plaid.

The Ragnarok Lumberjacks undertake and encourage the exploration of realities which are perceived to be actual and the creation of realities which are perceived to be virtual. We are the Illuminati of Twilight--none are less true or more permissive than we. In the work of reality creation and exploration, the Lumberjacks employ a wide variety of technologies, including (but not limited to)
