- Expedition in honor of Manman Brigitte. Meditative position with one hand to earth and the other hand shaped into a cup (Earth Touching Mudra). A beautiful exchange occurred, the cupped hand filled with light which flowed through me and out of my other hand into the earth. Then the hand touching the earth pulled up the powers of the Ancestors and these powers flowed through me into the cup created by the other hand.

- The Marassa (twins) and the thelemic equation of will/love seem to extend to the Buddhism of the Tibetans In the Refuge Vow you have Lama/Buddha and Dharma/Sanga. I have recently read that Dharma could be translated as "excellence" or "duty toward self."

LOVE: About 3 hours with the drumming and dancing. Left from the Temple, into the Quarter, to the cathedral of great St. Louis to pay respects, through the crowded streets and back to the Temple.
SUCCESS: Samedi Gras!
COMMENT: Three peoples in the parade have had their glasses broken or lost. Reminds me of the glasses worn by the Barons.

Looking up old magical records and correspondence from Mr. Crowley in the cabal's library with Singh. It is so good seeing the material used.

- This is a day of great (a least in a personal sense) import. All Black Moon tiles will at last have an ISBN and be findable in the data base of books in print. Received the numbers today.

- Mishlen and I are the only two in the house. Australian magicians have gone to Memphis to visit Mr. Presley. They no sooner left than a jar containing a gris gris dropped off of a shelf and spilled. The gris gris is set to keep the house spiritually clean. Both Mishlen and I became ill.
- To CAC to see new exhibit. The artist has created miniatures of old buildings in the South. What a way to attempt to envelop the mystery in that inhabits such buildings. The models are extremely exact. He has lured the same mystery into miniatures.

Letter to Maegdlyn. Sat for hours staring at the page. She must endure very painful things. Is there a choice to do this? A simple Yes or No would be a lie. Yet to dance with words in the face of pain would be a travesty. I don't know.

COMMENT: This footage will be seen in a city that has experienced so much devastation. Discussed going to Japan with the producer; to call Legba...To Open the Gates to the Invisibles on land where the Atomic Bomb has exploded could be quite an experience.

- Meditation at the Voodoo Spiritual Temple. Opened myself for contact with the characters of the Congo Square book I am working on. Good contact. The Square itself came through as a loa. This is not that unusual, many of the Orisha are African places. For example, Oshun is a river in Africa.
I like it that I am using the Meditations at the Voodoo Spiritual Temple to focus on bringing the Congo Square mss to life.

- RITUAL: Expedition; House Temple
WILL: Introduce Sue to Legba Aguator so that she can call him if Willed.
LOVE: Large mirror. I was using my asson and old Legba cane. Did call to Legba.
SUCCESS: Legba took me violently. Stayed till full presence then threw down cane and left Temple. This was a more fiery aspect of Legba than I had expected.
COMMENT: This is the last day for Sue and Cris, two Australian magicians who have been staying with us for about three weeks. From New Orleans they go to England and Russia. Cris had the flu so did not participate. I decided to do this rite for Sue when I saw her copy of the NEW ORLEANS VOODOO TAROT. The book was so well used and divided into sections by markers. Strong dedication.

- Australian Magicians left today. I began to feel sick.
Voodoo Spiritual Temple Meeting. Indian from Canada spoke of her Gramdmas treatment by the missionaries. So sad. For me, an odd aggregate seems to have come to a conclusion. About a week ago, I completed reading SOMETHING RICH AND STRANGE. In this story the characters become encrusted with sea life. Made quite an impression on me. Today I went to a dermatologist who said I have a tendency to grow what she calls "barnacles" on the skin of my back. I ate part of a roast duck at the meeting, the Indian said it was her duck and it was named OLOKUN.

Mishlen is to have a tooth pulled today and I have definitely come down with the flu at school today. Maybe it is something in the stars..or better yet something we ate (though at this point it feels more like something that ate us). This is the second time Cris an Sue (Australians) left and I and Mishlen became ill. Odd.

Home with flu. I am convinced this flue is from the Australian magicians who have been staying with us. Snuck up on me from down under. Mishlen also ill along with extracted tooth.
