The Magickal Record of Louis Martinie': February 1999

Monday 1
Doing Black Moon orders. Mishlen is in Bloomington. I forgot how much time a simple request for information takes to process. Wild convergences....two people in different parts of the country ordered 3 CDs each from Owen.

Tuesday 2
RITUAL: Temple Blanc dan-i WILL: Honor and respect to Manman Brigitte
LOVE: Orient painting to directions, Place on earth, Litany of Loa with drums, offering of port wine and candle in red bricks.
SUCCESS: Well Honored
COMMENT: Red bricks for rocks is a good New Orleans adaptation. Used words "Not the last but the first" when offered the "last" of the bottle of wine. I learnt this from the hindu holy man who stayed at the Voodoo Spiritual Temple. He said the words when offering a last bite of food.

Wednesday 3
A book reminded me today the the Irish Channel section of New Orleans where we live is a birthplace of Dixieland Jazz. The first touring band came from here. I wonder where they lived? How close to our house?

Thursday 4
RITUAL: New Orleans Voodoo Spiritual Temple; Peristyle Dantour WILL: To Manman Brigitte
LOVE: Order of Service with a long Banda; offering of red juice and King Cake
SUCCESS: Strong and well honored
COMMENT: Priestess Miriam...The Mother spoke through her and said @ "Every drop of rain contains an ancestor returning to the earth." This gives a fresh sense to the offering of libations.
Cut and distributed the King Cake. I spoke of the doll and the tradition of buying another cake if you find the doll in your piece. We made offerings of pieces to Manman...she was the one who got the doll.
Gave her the last piece before leaving. Said "Not the last but the first."

Friday 5
To Pensacola to write.
Ha! TC my brother came in from Houston at 6 and I'm getting calls about helping with an interview. Drove TC to the Quarter and almost got trapped in traffic by a parade. Made it out.
Did about three hours of dictation on the Sorcerer mss.

Saturday 6
Pensacola....Honor and respect to the solar spirits. This is the first day in my life I saw the sun both rise and set. Fire and Water. Type in the dictation.

Sunday 7
Print out what was written for Sorcerer mss. This is so new for me. It contains teachings that I've received but I also include the context in which I received them. Its a story. Sort of an expanded Magickal Record.

Monday 8
Work on copying chap books for Black Moon. Mishlen usually does this. Its good to reacquaint myself with what is involved.

Tuesday 9
Mishlen is back from Bloomington. Lord, what a trip... 50 tornadoes, friend with a psychotic break, psychiatric hospitals. To me this shows just how much Mishlen can handle. How strong she is.

Wednesday 10
Interview with child about Congo Square. Priestess Muslima is the childs mother.

Thursday 11
RITUAL: New Orleans Voodoo Spiritual Temple; Peristyle Dantour
WILL: Honor and Respect to the spirits, loa, and buddhas
LOVE: Order of Service
SUCCESS: Strong, especially when Priestess Miriam joined in the singing
COMMENT: Longer Litany of the Loa than usual. Very calm as if to balance the flow of carnival in the streets around us.

Friday 12
New case is a twin (Marassa!). Very fey; an old Grandmother in a young body. Her walk and to some extent her look conveys age.

Saturday 13
RITUAL: Sexual Magick; M. WILL: Join at highest level possible.
LOVE: Sexual flow through joined foreheads.
SUCCESS: Very strong. Vision of revolving white rose. The pedals spread as it moved.
COMMENT: M. referred to the Marassa mirroring my thoughts.

Sunday 14
To Pensacola. Got a call, the little interview I did is going to be placed in the National Archives; Childrens Museum. Man, you never know. The child won some kind of contest.

Monday 15
Pensacola...Transcribed all audio tape notes on Sorcerers mss.

Tuesday 16
Pensacola....Wrote to introduce TCs Bone Divination material. Related story of his resurrection at Charity Hospital.

Wednesday 17
RITUAL: Home; safe upon return WILL: Reward spirits and loa; thank buddhas
LOVE: Smoke and attention to the loa and spirits; prostrations to the buddhas
SUCCESS: Well done
COMMENT: Good that I did this upon return. sometimes I wait a few days

Thursday 18
Afternoon ashes from the Awakened One; the Buddha.

RITUAL: New Orleans Voodoo Spiritual Temple
WILL: Honor and Respect to the Loa
LOVE: Order of Service.
SUCCESS: Strong
COMMENT: Woman from Syrian radio station was there. I lent her a tape of the rite for the radio show.

Friday 19
Work on the proposed sabbatical. An Ethics and Morals Curriculum.

Saturday 20
Miriam has gone on a magickal retreat to the ocean. This is so necessary to keep internal balance. I leant her my tape recorder to record her thoughts.

Sunday 21
Lent..beginning to work on finances. Fitting.

Monday 22
In bad spirits. Mishlen thinks I'm ill. She may be right. Off balance; everything is irritating.

Tuesday 23
Marassa magicks are of the mirror! Two...an Aha! realization.

Wednesday 24
Woke up with dream of my actions being a part of a computer program. Lock step of karma?

Thursday 25
RITUAL: New Orleans Voodoo Spiritual Temple WILL: Honor and Respect to the Loa, personal Inspiration
LOVE: Order of Service
SUCCESS: Strong
COMMENT: Ah! From what Miriam and I said I see that the internal flow of the Order of Service is that of a birth. Miriam has said that the door that Legba opens is that of the womb.
So....Ogun/Annie Christmas clears the way of the birth. Mama Waters is the birth Waters. Damballah/Aida Wedo is the umbilical chord.

Friday 26
New insights into the Order of Service. The internal flow of the ritual is that of birth. Oswan said that the first mysterie was that of birth, not death when I initially met him.

Saturday 27
Pulling house library back together. So much has changed. I write at a computer not a desk anymore.
Looking at 10 yr old MRs. I have an entry that states that pressure is a quality of the Marassa. This is very interesting in the light of Mishlen's insights into gravity/karma.

Sunday 28
RITUAL: Bourbon Street club WILL: Entertain and enlighten
LOVE: Bamboula, Legba, Ogun, Damballah
SUCCESS: Very strong
COMMENT: Part of the continuum of New Orleans Voodoo. It turned out to be a wig makers convention. Not knowing this, I was prompted by the loa to decorate my drum with about 6 wigs and carry a bag of wigs to the Temple.
