A Class Act Music provides live musicians for special events. Although our specialty is harp music we also have available many other musicians and groups covering a wide variety of styles. We do not do DJ's or Karaoke.
We do provide harp, both solo and with accompaning musicians (like flute, violin or cello), string quartets, brass ensembles, and music such as organ or handbells for a ceremony, or groups that would be appropriate for a reception or a party. The best part about working with A Class Act to plan your music is our in-depth knowledge of who is available and most importantly, who is appropriate, for your function.
We also take care of all the stresses that accompany the organization of music for your event. When working with us, you will always have the opportunity to hear who you are hiring in advance of the date. We're very selective about who we hire, so our customers are very pleased with the music we provide. We'd be glad to help you with your musical needs for anything from an intimate gathering to a grand affair.
There are quite a few performers from which we'll choose to provide your music, and they set their own rates, usually based on their investments in equipment and training. For instance, the more expensive player will generally be more able to play your special requests. So when we initially quote prices, we give you a price range. A harpist for a party will range from $125 to $300 for the first two hours, but since this includes moving the equipment, additional hours are much less, about $30 to $50 an hour. Musicians who don't have to move large, delicate instruments are in many cases less expensive. For instance, a band might charge only $75 to $200 per musician for four hours. Generally, the smaller the band, the more each member charges.
Wedding ceremonies include up to one half-hour of prelude music, the processional, any music included in the ceremony itself, the recessional, about 5 to 10 minutes of postlude. Also included is up to one hour of consultation where you meet with the musicians and they play for you to help you choose the music for your ceremony. Prices range from $125 to $300 for a harpist, and $75 to $175 for a less cumbersome instrument such as flute, voice, or violin.
Once you've decided to use A Class Act, fill out the form farther down the page and we will contact the most appropriate musician, have them put the date on hold, and give you an exact quote on your engagement. We will then send you a contract. Once we have received it back, we will officially contract the musician and put you in touch with them to work out the details.
At this point, for a wedding ceremony, we'll send you a form that is a listing of things like how many bridesmaids and little people there will be, and cues for their music which also available here in the Weddings section. This form is to be filled out with the musician at the consultation. The consultation is also your time to make sure that you are getting what you want. If you have any reservations, contact us immediately and we will work it out. We hope that this information has been helpful and that you will take time to fill out the short form below.
