nterdisciplinary studies combine art, music, and literature with field and laboratory science, and social studies with a global perspective. Opportunities for the Upper Unit include additional literature classes and participation in Model United Nations.

multi-media art program based on art history, a multi-cultural study of art, integrating modern graphic techniques with direct observation.


I
ndividualized instruction in mathematics and the language arts provides each child the opportunity to discover, expand and progress at his or her own pace. The natural offshoot of individualized education is tolerance and respect for diversity in learning and life.

M
ixed-age groupings
and small classes create a dynamic environment for cooperative exploration and individual effort.

C
omputer education is integrated across the curriculum. They are student resources in Social Studies and Science, and enrichment in Math.The upper unit produces the weekly MFS Newsletter, using professional level software on a Macintosh network.

T
heatrical and performance experience in concerts and plays. In recent years the upper unit has presented Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Pirates of Penzance, Fiddler on the Roof, The Music Man, and Into the Woods.
