Attention High School Students:

The NKU Academy is designed for first-time undergraduate students who do not meet the requirements for admission, however NKU gives the opportunity to raise your skills

Today the NKU Academy schholars engage in a rigorous five-week program from 8:00am to 4:00pm that includes two classes and one credit hour. Scholars who successfully complete the academy are eligible to persist as degree-seeking students in the fall semester and will continue receiving support to facilitate success during their first college year.

To be considered for the NKU Academy, potential scholars must apply for admission through the undergraduate Office of Admissions (www.nku.edu/~admitnku). Students eligible to become NKU Academy scholars will be referred to the academy by the admissions office. Those who apply prior to March 1st will have the greatest opportunity for admission to the Academy and financial assistance.

The NKU Academy offers two options for experiencing our five-week program. Commuter Option - There is a single, all-inclusive fee for the academy that includes the equivalent of three courses, all academic assistance, peer mentoring, student development sessions and activities. Residential Option - NKU Academy scholars who live on campus will reside in the University Suites. Many students enjoy living on campus because it gives them greater opportunities to achieve academically, meet people, and make friends.

Sincerely:
