Through the Business Education Success Team, Schools and businesses are joined in partnerships which enable them to share personnel and resources, and which encourage them to develop innovative programs and activities for the students. The Alliance currently supports B.E.S.T. Partnerships by publicizing successful initiatives, promoting workforce reform through “B.E.S.T. Program of Distinction” and recognizing successful teams through an annual awards presentation. The strength of this program lies in the dedication and innovation of participating businesses and schools, with each partnership developing according to participants; unique interests and capabilities. Area businesses of all kinds are encouraged to participate, and wherever appropriate, more than one business can be matched with a school. |

B.E.S.T. News
| The Business Education Success Team(B.E.S.T.) program in Northern Kentucky is
a highly successful team effort between local businesses and area schools. Ellison Surface Technologies and Conner High have been B.E.S.T. partners for several years, and Citi Group and Conner engaged as partners in the 2002-2003 school year. In the event you had not heard , Conner High and Ellison Surface Technologies were recognized as the high school "Partnership of the Year for 2002-03." Some of the B.E.S.T. programs last year included helping Habitat for Humanity build a home, a joint supply drive for our armed forces overseas and their families here in the states, Student of the Month, B.E.S.T. student recognition breakfast, faculty weekend getaway, B.E.S.T. faculty breakfast, student mentoring for elementaty students and Northern Kentucky Boys Home, December food drive, and more. Ellison Surface Technologies annually sponsors six B.E.S.T. awards/scholarships for our students totaling $2,500. Citi Group sponsored incentives and a breakfast for the Work Ethic Certificate recipients, and sponsored the Banking on your Future seminar for Northern Kentucky schools. The B.E.S.T. program is extremely valuable for both local schools and area businesses. Conner/Ellison Technologies have been active partners for several years. For the past several years, we have annually achieved the level to be included in the Program of Distinction(we were the only high school in Boone County to achieve this level for 2001-02) The B.E.S.T. student of the month program is only one part of the B.E.S.T. partnership but is definitely a vital portion of the program. We encourage every faculty member to participate by nominating one student each month who is deserving of this honor. If all teachers participate, this would give us over 75 recognized students each month. Incentive!!!!! Only teachers who participate in the B.E.S.T. student of the month are eligible for the Teacher Weekend Getaway drawing at the end of the school year. |
